you’re right — i should have qualified the ace description. still, things have only gotten better for him in the few weeks since. his 2.00 ERA and 0.98 WHIP are very ace-like.

Your take on Charlie Morton is premature an I feel Morton is not yet in the ace department. His performance has been promising, but uneven. I think another half-season of AAA will prepare him for an early call-up in August.

That’s it — that’s the bottom line. These officials and those officials carry on with their battles and the fans stuck in the middle get screwed. Mobley obviously is going to always stick up for the owners, but Atlanta obviously felt little about the Richmond area’s years of support, either.

The president of the IL (Randy Mobley) was at the PawSox welcome home luncheon this year. He talked about the situation in Richmond with the ballpark for a little while.

He was NOT happy. In his own soft-spoken, bespectacled way, he scolded the city officials for being uncooperative. I don’t know much about what happened down there but it sounds like the fans are getting screwed.
